About Arts Explosion

Arts Explosion is an annual program that is held the third week of July. Teaching artists engage with students and teach several different artistic disciplines that challenge each person’s creativity and imagination. All art is on display at the end of the week for a special Family Night Reception where these young artists get to show off their masterpieces.

Early sign up for Arts Explosion will begin during April-May. Limited scholarships are available for students who qualify. Events are also posted on Chisholm Trail Arts Council’s Facebook page. Program History

Arts Explosion (AE) first began around 1991. Classes were held at the Simmons Center for several years, but once the program outgrew this space, AE was then moved to the Stephens County Expo Center.

Originally, Arts Explosion focused on students who had completed third, fourth and fifth grades. Classes were designed to hold approximately 20 children per class. In recent years, the AE program has slowly expanded to include not only older children, but teens as well as youngsters in kindergarten through second grades.

Schedule & Prices  

Arts Explosion 2022:     July 18 – 22.  Early enrollment will begin in April-June 2022. Online registration is available until July 12, 2022. Late registration begins July 13. *Class sizes may be limited. Contact us for current updates.

GROUP I (3rd – 5th grades)
9:00 am – 12:00 pm**
$70 / $80 Late

GROUP II (K – 2nd grades) 
1:00 pm – 2:35 pm**    
$45 / $55 Late 

GROUP III (6th – 12th grades)  
3:00 pm – 5:00 pm**
$45 / $55 Late
